The City of Henderson, in partnership with the Chester County Recycling Hub, launched the 96-gallon curbside recycling carts program in April of 2019. The carts will replace the blue recycling bags residents are currently using. Please do not bag your recycling. This will result in a oops tag being placed on your cart and it will be picked up on your next pick up day.
Please see the list of acceptable materials to place in your cart. When you received your new cart, it was delivered with a tag that has pick updates, and a list of acceptable materials. Please have your cart out by 7:00 a.m. on your correct pickup day. Read our frequently asked questions (FAQs), and if you still have questions call our office at (731) 989-9855.
No trash. Please DO NOT bag your recycling. No plastic film, No Glass, No bags or styrofoam. No Food or liquid(empty all containers). No cords, plastic tanglers, chains, or hoses. No tanks, wood, plastic furniture, or metal. No clothing or linens.

Recycling diverts materials from landfills, saves cost for the city and county on tipping and hauling fees, and saves landfill space. Recycling helps protect our environment for you and future generations by saving energy, resources, and helps reuse materials.
After placing your recycling in your new cart, it is picked up by the City of Henderson and brought to the Chester County Recycling Center which is also known as the West TN Regional Recycling Hub. The recycling center sorts, processes, and bales materials to be sent out to make new products.
Please see the list of acceptable materials at the top of the page.
Please give the cart a try before making a decision not to recycle.
Please call our office at (731) 989-9855 or email the City of Henderson Recycling Program for questions or concerns.
